The Southern Maryland Chapter was organized in June 1958, then called the Charles County Chapter. Since that time, we have been continuously involved in conservation and environmental issues that affect Southern Maryland. We have a long history of offering youths outdoor education and activities through our fishing derbies, hunter education, wildlife food plots, and scholarship programs. In 1990, we purchased a beautiful 141-acre farm in Waldorf, including approximately 60 acres of the Zekiah and Jordan swamps with the goals of protecting of the swamp and building the Southern Maryland Outdoor Education Center.
