Membership Information

Any person 18 years of age or older who has shown an interest in the objects and purposes of the Chapter is eligible to apply for membership.

Any member, preferably the sponsoring member, must be responsible for each member between the ages of 18 and 21 years.

The annual individual membership dues are $100. Chapter family membership dues are one and one-half (1.5) times the individual dues. Chapter student membership dues are one-half (0.5) of the individual dues.

Membership in the League is a privilege which is granted only to persons of good character who support the conservation and wise stewardship of our natural resources.

Membership in the Southern Maryland Chapter of the IWLA provides an opportunity to meet and make friends with other individuals who share similar interests such as camping, fishing, conervation, hunting, shooting, archery, wildlife viewing and outdoor photography . You will also know that your membership dues, contributions and work will help the chapter continue its endeavor to protect the natural resources and rich natural heritage of Southern Maryland and heighten public awareness of conservation issues through education.

Membership benefits include:

  • Use of the Chapter's beautiful 141 acre Outdoor Education Center (OEC) facilities including a pavilion, a stocked pond, a picnic and primitive camp site, an archery range, and an activity field.
  • Limited hunting opportunities.
  • Membership in the National and Maryland State division of the IWLA.
  • Publications include the Chapter newsletter and the League's quarterly Outdoor America magazine. Free newsletters, such as Outdoor Ethics and Environments for Life, which provide in-depth coverage of specific conservation issues, are also available upon request.
